"The fun money is private money.  At Southern Miss, I've got state dollars and I've got Foundation dollars. It's real easy to tell them apart.  I tell people I've got two checkbooks. I've got my booze account and my non-booze account. Out of the state money I'm pretty constrained what in I can do. ... Foundation dollars, that's when I take my money out of my booze account, I can pretty much do anything I want with it." Click for link to Dr. Doty's Booze Account  Click for link to Quotable Doty.

(September 28, 2006) Breaking Down Niroomand’s Defenses  “... A written note from a usmpride confederate indicates that CoB Associate Dean Farhang Niroomand is on the warpath and is visiting select individuals to defend his extravagant and outrageous travel habits.  Niroomand says that very little of his travel is paid for by State dollars and that most is funded by his grant work.  That’s fine and dandy, but let’s take a look at Niroomand’s behavior and responsibilities…”.
A followup report to Harold and Farhang will Always have Paris (September 28, 2006) Stretching the Truth to Stretch the Trip "This Special Report returns to the now well-known AACSB junket to Paris made by the CoB’s Dean Harold Doty and Associate Dean Farhang Niroomand. Visitors to usmpride.com will recall that Niroomand’s trip to this AACSB meeting consumed more than $4,000. A report on Doty’s expenses is forthcoming. The screen below shows how much Niroomand’s trip to Paris cost taxpayers, not including the registration fee, which totaled almost $1,200 by itself: ...".
(September 30, 2006) Running with the Babins This Special Report presents some details regarding a trip to Europe in the Summer of 2005 made by the Babins (Barry and Laurie, Professors of Marketing) to attend two consecutive conferences, one in France and the other in Germany. Barry Babin filed a Permission to Travel Form in February of 2005 (see below) regarding this trip. ...".  For more information concerning Dr. Babin's travels, click here
(October 1, 2006) “Dinner with Colleague(s)” "This Special Report takes a look at a recent stack of paperwork obtained by usmpride.com investigators involving several meals that CoB Associate Dean Farhang Niroomand has had with various 'colleagues.' The parties involved, and the purpose of these meals, is not spelled out by Niroomand on any of his reimbursement forms. It seems as though Niroomand’s thinking is that simply using the word 'colleague(s)' makes any meal expenditure legitimate. Our first example is inserted below:...".

The memo was penned by former CoB Administrative Assistant Sheila Marler. It was addressed to Rayonne Ellis in Financial Affairs, and it concerns a delay in travel reimbursements for CoB Associate Dean Farhang Niroomand. That memo is presented below: ...".  For more inforamtion concerning Dr. Niroomand, click here.
(October 3, 2006)  Just How Unstreetable is CoB Dean Harold Doty? "Former CBA Dean Bill Gunther occasionally remarked that he had few “streetable” faculty in the CBA.  Given Gunther’s talents at fundraising, and current CoB Dean Harold Doty’s apparent lack of proficiency in this area, we begin to wonder more and more just how “unstreetable” Doty must really be.  Stories have circulated again and again in the CoB about this or that mis-statement made by Doty in a public setting.  One has to look no further than his own job talk at the University of South Florida to see several examples of that. ..."  For more, see Quotable Doty.

(October 3, 2006) They Just Can't Help Themselves  "CoB Associate Dean Farhang Niroomand recently announced the 2006-2007 CoB Named Professorships, and the results are at once predictable and astounding. There are ten categories of professorships, some of which have been newly added to this group and some of which have been newly created. These grouping are BAC Professors, Partnership Society Professors, the Morgan Professorship in Accounting, the McCarty Professorship in MIS, the Kaetsu Professorship in IB, the Draughn Pharmaceutical Sales Professorship, the Banking Professorships, the Economic Professorship, the Center for Financial Services Professorship, and the Professors in Practice participants.  The recipients are:...".
(October 4, 2006) Over and Over and Over:  What Being Reminded of Niroomand’s Grant Work Actually Reminds Us "At every opportunity to do so, the CoB’s administration reminds CoB faculty about the United States Department of Education Title VI-B Grant work being done by the CoB’s Associate Dean Farhang Niroomand. The most recent example comes from the fall 2006 issue of Joint Venture, the CoB’s fundraising magazine. That example is depicted below:...".  For more information about Dr. Niroomand's, see Breaking Down Niroomand’s Defenses  and Farhang Niroomand.

A Look at 2004-05 Faculty Recruiting in the EFIB "Investigators at USMPRIDE.COM ran across some interesting information in the stack of paperwork that was obtained via a “freedom of information” request. The information concerns a faculty recruiting trip made by CoB Associate Dean and Professor of Economics Farhang Niroomand to Philadelphia in January of 2005. This report was meant to be part of the “Special Report” series, however USMPRIDE.COM investigators made the case that it should be an independent report given the serious nature of the findings...".
(October 5, 2006) IS GEORGE CARTER THE SABOTEUR? "CoB Dean Harold Doty concluded the fall 2006 CoB Faculty Meeting by informing faculty that an unnamed individual or individuals were attempting to sabotage the College’s 2007 AACSB Reaffirmation efforts. Doty stated that AACSB officials had been notified of the sabotage efforts. This report puts forth a theory on who might be attempting to sabotage the CoB’s AACSB efforts. It is only a theory. However, we offer some particulars for USMPRIDE.COM readers to ponder as they consider the theory. We begin with a question: Is it possible that George Carter is one of the saboteurs? In considering this question, keep in mind the following:...".
