BREAKING STORY: Doty announces new rules. Issues of academic freedom do not "meet the minimal sufficiency requirments for initiating a faculty grievance." No citation provided by Doty. However, that's not what Faculty Handbook 12.2.2(g) says. Doty's doctrine deconstructed on home page.
This website is part of an effort to open our College and University.  The website is available to all.  Dean Doty, Provost Grimes, President Thames, or anyone else, is welcome to share information or offer differing points of view. I recognize that with respect to opinion pieces, opinions may differ and additional information may result in a different picture.  As I have done in previous editions, I am willing to include comments and reports from everyone.   Your input, including corrections, is valued.

In "A Report on Black Tuesday at the College of Business," I recommended that we try something different -- let's have a dialogue like real academics. Well, that didn't work. Ignoring mismanagement continues to be CoB/USM administrators' modus operandi.  Plan B is a formal grievance which is provided for your review below.  The document was delivered to Drs. Grimes, Doty, Carter and Lewis on 10.03.06.  Plan C is on the drawing board.  Marc DePree
